Jesus Medrano | Black + New
Black + New (B + N) was founded in 2017 by Sacramento-based designer Jesús Medrano.  Medrano premiered his first women's collection at Sacramento Fashion Week in 2014.  He has created and featured a variety of women's styles at various other local events. Now a seasoned designer, Medrano has  ventured into the field of men's design, expanding his creativity by introducing a new style proposal with  B + N.  B + N manages to stay aligned with what most consider "acceptable to wear." The cutting-edge wearable fashion sets it apart from the rest. Since its introduction, B + N has achieved moderate success, most  recently being featured in Elle Magazine. Born from the discovery of a gap between high fashion and  leather fetish, and inspired by the San Francisco gay men's leather subculture, the B + N style  proposal has been ignited and is set to stay lit!

Christy Jahlea Jahlou | Jahlou-Shazaam Studios
After the loss of her 11 year old son Conrad in an accident, and the unfortunate end of her marriage, Christy felt that she had to demonstrate to life itself that she could persevere.  She immersed herself into fashion design and began to make items that spoke to her.  "It turned out to be clothing/costumes that I could express my skills and vision through." With no previous experience in this medium, she taught herself through trial and error.  Having no expectation whatsoever about fiscal return on projects, the quiet work over years was comforting and interesting so she persisted.  This new creative outlet has led her to meet so many wonderful people in the fashion community who have appreciated and enjoyed her collections.

Maya Leon | Angela De Forsage
The feminine figure has always captivated the imagination, and for Maya Leon of Angela De Forsage, this is definitely the case and can be seen through her unique and invigorating designs.  After moving to the United States in 2007, Maya found the American cultural lifestyle inspiring. From this inspiration, a new creative vision emerged. For Maya, there is a long creative process and secret formula that puts the soul into every dress. The goal of her new collection is to attract spiritually positive vibrations. The shimmer of gold and silver represents the reflections of the sun and the moon as they dance on the water's surface. The crushed, frayed lace and pleated silk will recall feelings of softness and lightness. Whether wearing or even just laying eyes on these distinct designs, all will leave feeling a sense of love.

May T | Juku

With a degree in fashion design and fashion merchandising at American River College where she also received designer awards for “Honorable Creativity” and “Best Re-Purpose” at their annual fashion shows. In 2017, she even had the opportunity to showcase some of her pieces at the Voices Magazine Awards in Minneapolis). Juku designs consist of African inspired prints, vibrant colors, and fabric with a more sophisticated European style twist. The use of these vibrant and African prints is a representation of where she's from and who she is. Juku can be perfect to wear in an office setting, for a day out cavorting in the city, or a night out in the town. The versatility May T brings through her unique style can be seen in all of her designs.
