​On May 11th, the Boardwalk in Orangevale, California, transformed into a vibrant hub of music, fashion, and community as Rock for a Cause brought together an unforgettable night dedicated to raising awareness for mental health. The event united artists, designers, performers, and attendees under a shared mission of advocacy and support.

Hosted by the charismatic Kill Murphy and the dynamic Fahteema Ervin, the night was a blend of entertainment and meaningful dialogue.

​Performing Bands:
The evening was electrified by performances from some of the most dynamic bands in the scene:

• Indifferent: Hailing from Reno, NV, this beatdown hardcore band brought their unique "Gorilla Violence" sound, merging elements of punk, deathcore, metalcore, and power violence to deliver an intense and unforgettable set.
• Crowd Control: These Northern California punk-rock insurgents amplified rebellion and inspired the audience with their raw energy and anthems that resonate deeply with those who defy conventions.
• Midori: Another punk-rock powerhouse from Northern California, Midori captivated the crowd with their authentic sound and powerful messages, echoing through the streets of Sacramento.

Fashion Show:
The fashion showcase added a touch of elegance and creativity to the evening, featuring designs from:

• Head Works Designs by James: With over 30 years in the fashion industry, James brought his eclectic and futuristic styles to the runway, impressing the audience with his unique vision and creativity.
• Agape Clothing: Drawing inspiration from the rugged coastline and vibrant local culture, Agape's sustainable swimwear collection brought a fresh and eco-friendly approach to fashion.
• Fantasy Creations by Nicole Jordan: Known for her innovative jewelry piece outfits, Nicole's designs have graced numerous publications and high-profile events. Her headpieces, worn by drag queen Plastique Tiara, were a highlight of the show.

Dance Performances:

• Tasia Turner: Renowned for her electrifying performances and innovative choreography, Tasia, the founder of Queens n Stars, mesmerized the audience with her passion for heels dance, pushing boundaries and empowering others through movement.
• Artistic Samurai: Known for his dynamic fusion of crump and lyrical dance styles, Artistic Samurai brought a unique blend of discipline, precision, and creativity, captivating the audience with performances that were both powerful and emotive.
• Outcast Girls: Led by Bryanna Quinonez, this all-female rock dance group commanded the stage with their raw talent, fierce attitude, and unapologetic style, leaving the crowd exhilarated and inspired.

Non-Profit Awareness:
Rock for a Cause proudly supported three vital non-profit organizations dedicated to mental health and community support:

• NAMI Sacramento: Advocating for individuals affected by mental illness, NAMI Sacramento provides essential resources, support, and advocacy.
• Punks With Lunch: This volunteer-led mutual aid collective offers food, supplies, and harm reduction tools to both housed and unhoused neighbors in the Sacramento area.
• L for Lupus Community Foundation: Providing emotional and financial assistance to lupus patients and their families, this foundation serves as an emergency safety net during times of distress.
